Amanda Bossard, fresh out from Anchorage High School in 1992 began her studies in marine biology. Bossard's career began in 1999, when she took a job on the vessel F/V Sunset. It is a 65-foot halibut vessel was converted to a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. He has been commercial fishing for more than 20 years. Bossard who is engaged to Aritan she has joined alliance to gain access to their industries. Both are advocates conservation of sustainable, renewable sources of seafood. Otolith launched its direct market wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia after Bossard returned from living back at home with her daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1year old, and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. Her husband has a long history in the fish industry that often means they stay apart for five months or longer. That's when they're focusing on their environment and financial goals. Bossard and their son Andre and Isabella, her daughter Isabella will return back to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands for the harvest of wild salmon. After two months of fishing with hooks as well as lines, and a 42-foot salmon trolling machine they joined Aritan and sold local processors of seafood.
